With this test you can accurately assess the cold tolerance level of your larch seedlings. It allows you to determine the optimal moment for lifting and transfer to cold or frozen storage. This timing is crucial for ensuring the re-growth potential of your seedlings.
For this test you need to prepare a juice sample from the top buds of 15 seedlings, randomly selected from the batch you wish to test. The sample is easy to prepare.
Based on your sample we determine the frost tolerance level of your seedlings on a scale of 0 (cold sensitive) to 3 (fully hardened off). The analysis is available within two business days after we have received your samples.
This test is faster and more accurate than standard methods, because it directly measures the activity of genes that control the cold hardening process.
This test is suitable for larch (Larix sp). It is also available for Scots pine, Norway spruce, Douglas fir and European beech. Please contact us if you require this test for other species.
